Greetings to you and your members! I am writing to you on behalf of Michael Wilhite. I would like to recommend him to you as a candidate for your new pastor. I have known Pastor Wilhite for 1.5 years, and can say that our ministry together has grown in many positive ways.
Michael was the pastor at Limestone Baptist in Bedford, until December 6, 2009. He and his wife, Bethany traveled from Huntingburg to Bedford for over two years. Even after the birth of their first child, they continued to faithfully drive over every week. They tried to relocate to Bedford, but due to the housing market could not sell their home. He was bi-vocational, and did as much as he could to be effective in the Bedford field of service.
Pastor Wilhite has a desire to serve his association. During the past year, Limestone hosted one of White River Baptist Associations bi-monthly meetings and hosted the Annual meeting as well. When the associations VBS representative to the state convention relocated, Pastor Michael accepted to take over these responsibilities. Then in September of 2009, he was selected to be the contracted Associational Administrator. He is the contact person for WRBA, and is my go to guy whenever I need to get information to all 19 churches.
Pastor Wilhite has led the church to be more evangelistic, using the Acts 1:8 model. He had me come in and train the members in outreach. The church had an effective outreach to an apartment complex, and had many children coming to an ongoing backyard Bible club on Sunday evenings. You can see Michael’s desire to reach people!
